August 15, 2018

It’s really about the little things in life… those bits of unexpected joy!

Priceless moments can make a huge difference… like logging into Twitter and finding you were nominated for an award – my second one this year!

A TEXAS size thank you to Kristi from “Haunted History Jaunts with Kristi.” for nominating me for the “Blogger Recognition Award!” You really made my day girl! This is the best early Christmas gift!

Let’s get started by first covering the rules surrounding this award as I will be nominating 15 other fabulous bloggers!

  1. Thank the blogger for nominating you and link to their blog
  2. Write a blog post on your website showing the award
  3. Describe the story of why you started your blog
  4. Write two pieces of advice you have for new bloggers
  5. Nominate 15 more bloggers
  6. Notify nominees of their nomination

Why I Started My Blog

Easy enough question to answer. I have a passion for writing. I fell in love. It was time to evangelize.

The backstory: I had been writing for LinkedIn and the like for some time, toying with the idea of taking it a step up. And then it happened! I went on a Catholic Women’s Retreat (ACTS) and fell in love all over again for Christ, my King! I knew at that moment that I had a job to do: evangelize the message “It’s never too late.”

Fast forward to today: I’m a faith-based girl boss blogging about life through a Catholic lens. Hoping to be the face of Jesus on Earth, one day at a time.

Two Pieces of Advice for New Bloggers

I decided early on that I would share as many blogging best practices as I could validate along the way. Sharing is indeed caring. And so I wrote several posts to help new bloggers.

What a happy coincidence that this award would invite me to share two pieces of advice for newbies. My post, Blogging Secret Sauce literally outlines exactly that!

It all boils down to: networking and detective work. I really believe this is the key to success. You’ve got to make friends and roll up your sleeves, dig in. Building your social family will provide you with inspiration and support. And, you’ve got to read, investigate and take free e-anything!
