What’s Next on the Blogging Horizon for this Girl Boss?

Quick pulse check – are you caught up on my “how to”” blogging posts?

Don’t look back, you’re not headed that way.

I feel like I dipped my toes into the “blogging coaching” pool with “The 411 on Blogging.” It was a relatively short piece dedicated to those that might be on the “blogging fence.” You know: I love writing; but, what does that commitment really look like.

Once that was said and done, I took a deep breath and took the plunge. I wrote my very first blogging instructional, “Launch Your Blog in 5 Steps.”

It was like a walk down memory lane, sharing the best tips and tricks I’d gathered in my blogger investigative journey over the last several months.

Part 2 was my “Blogging Secret Sauce” post where we talk about the urgency behind networking and detective work. I really can’t stress enough how important it is to find your “blogger tribe.”

In the interim, I added a few YouTube videos highlighting the “ins and outs” of blogging for those visually inclined. Totally recommend you check them out and my channel. It’s not half bad for a small youtuberpreneur.  Plus, the upside is you get to put a face and voice to the girl behind the blog.

My introduction to YouTube world

Which brings me to today: grateful to so many people – too many to name. Yet, two personalities stand out. One was the impetus to my blogging dream materializing; the other has been a constant cheerleader – someone you can personally DM.

Disclaimer: This post contains some affiliate links. This means that I’ll be providing some recommendations that have made a big impact on setting up my blog. Selecting those will not cost you a penny more, just helps fund my dreams. This is also not a paid advertisement or review; only represents my opinion 100%.

Blogger Family Extraordinaire “It’s a Lovely Life” wife / husband team Heather and Pete Reese are self-made blogger sensations. Two decades in the making, they travel extensively with their kids and are living the American dream.

What drew me to them is that they are 100% relatable, likable. It’s easy to jump down the rabbit hole with them. Their encouraging videos, teachables, emails, posts, messages, make it seem like if you put in the work and follow their advice, you too may be able to turn your passion into a self-sustaining career.  All they while, they publish their impressive monthly earning to assure their audience how valuable their intel really is.

To get your blog off the ground, they offer a couple of free sessions and share links for discounted suggestions (e.g. platform, web host – Bluehost being everyone’s favorite). In my opinion, what they are really known for is the “Blogging Blastoff” and “Travel Blogging Fast Track” courses (self-proclaimed road-maps to success).

And are they expensive? Heck yeah; but, can you really put a price tag on financial independence? Each of the courses offers about 30 days of teachable content for $400-500, billable in installments to ease the financial pain.

Down the road, I may just pull the “It’s a Lovely Life” trigger; but, it’ll have to wait until next year! Because for the next 6 months, I’ll be dancing to a different blogging drum. I’ll be starting a “6 month social experiment” as I attempt to follow in the footsteps of Blogger Lauren Duclos.

This “boss girl blogging” champion, has a personalized social presence that will make your head spin – her specialty, in my opinion: Pinterest with 1.5m monthly views! And personally, I love her Twitter account @BGbloggers.

Her blog, “Ell Duclos” is absolutely amazing: from layout to content and offers the building blocks for blogging success. It even has a catchy ring to it –  a play on her real name Lauren: “Ell” you know, because Lauren begins with an “ell” and “Duclos,” well, it’s her last name.

Lauren is also the creative genius behind Facebook page, “Boss Girl Bloggers.” It is a private page monitored by Lauren herself. Trust me – she is always available, doesn’t have 20 assistants answering questions for her. You DM her; she answers. Her contact is 100% personalized and real.

What is appealing about Lauren’s courses is the affordable price tag for the wide variety of topics she offers: Pinterest, building traffic, affiliate marketing. Pricing starts at free and ends at $30 bucks a course, no joke. I’ve previewed some of the content and it’s 100% legit. She makes no promises and I’m okay with that.

It’s a lot of work and dedication. I stayed up till 3-4 am most nights after working doubles! Not easy; but, you are dedicated and I believe in you!

What inspired me was Lauren’s piece “How I Turned My Blog Into a Career – In Just 6 Months!” It walks you through her 6 month journey; but, careful – this is not an actual course. This is a relatable back-story: her blog-life blueprint.

And is why, I’ve decided to park my “It’s a Lovely Life” treasure-map to take ALL OF LAUREN’S teachables!

Join me as I journal “My Blogging Social Experiment” over the course of the next 6 months. This is my “next big step” in turning my passion into a self-sustaining career.

Am I saying that I’ll be retiring in 6 months? Absolutely not. The teachables offer no guarantees, just a framework. What I am hoping to accomplish is to tighten my blogging gaps and road-map my success: target date 2020.

I’ll be posting about my journey monthly and giving real, insightful feedback. You’ll read about the successes I find along the way and critiquing any hiccups I may come across.

Next stop: my Blogmas kick-off and intro to Ell Duclos’ “Master Pinterest + Increase Your Website Traffic & Your Sales.” Stay tuned.
