Bible Verses You Need to Know

It’s Sunday so it makes sense that we should talk Godly content. Perfect time to share with you my favorite 4 Bible verses – for all situations, all people.

And, to keep things simple I’ve selected scripture found in any Christian Bible regardless of your denomination.

You’re Not Alone – Bible Verse #1

It’s so important to believe in something greater than oneself and to know that we are not alone. To know that we have a Heavenly Father hovering over us at all times.

The Book of Psalms is the largest collection of chapters of the Old Testament with 150 poems divided into 5 books. It’s a beautiful collection of praises to God and reassurance of His love for us.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me.

Psalm 23:4

Petitions – Bible Verse #2

The Gospel according to Matthew is the first of four books of the New Testament. It’s the first book because by all accounts it was written prior to the Gospels of Mark, Luke and John.

And from Matthew 7 comes a very well known verse that speaks to the nature of our Savior. He is a loving, giving Father who patiently waits for us to come to Him.

Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.

Matthew 7:7

The Meaning of Love – Bible Verse #3

Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, [love] is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

In his first Letter to the Corinthians, Paul addressed the moral and ethical matters of the time: questions of immorality, marriage and celibacy, the conduct of women, the propriety of eating meat offered to idols, and the worthy reception of the Eucharist.

There were problems with this Christian group, a community he founded.

Is why we get this “instructional” of what love is and isn’t.

“Good for any day” kinda Bible Verse #4

I can do all things in him who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13

My favorite Bible verse and oddly enough I believe it’s the most “re-quoted” one. Thanks to BibleHub.com I found 27 versions of this one verse!

So, depending on which Bible you are looking at, the text changes… not significantly though. And the spirit of the message stays intact: Christ gives me the strength to do it ALL!

If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.
    2 Chronicles 20:9 KJV
