Cliff Notes:
“Choosing Me: Love Letters from a Poet, Volume 1” is a unique instructional for lovers with a surprising twist: it’s written in poetry, free verse style. And while poetry may not be for everyone; this one comes with an “how to read” preface, a road-map of sorts.
The author skillfully compiles, and shares love notes he’s written to his wife, his muse. This is a love story that can easily be replicated – should the reader so desire.
Would I Recommend?
Absolutely would recommend this selection of poetry! “Choosing Me: Love Letters from a Poet, Volume 1“ is unlike anything I have ever read.
As a Catholic woman I try to view everything through a Godly lens. And I feel 100% comfortable in saying that this is a wonderful celebration of intimacy and love. It is a tasteful collection of heartwarming, pulse driving love poems.
Overall Thoughts:
- Bill Weber’s poetry style is 100% relatable. His word choice, love language is simple yet evokes an immediate emotional response. Even a non-poetry reader like myself could hardly put this book down. Single readers will long for companionship; coupled readers will have the tools to maximize romance.
- The introduction “please read” and what follows sets the tone for a magical experience. Bravo for honing in on this otherwise screaming secret: reading poetry is not a one size fits all experience. Audiences need this kind of poetry reading guidance to better grasp the author’s intent and really appreciate the work.
- Celebrating intimacy and removing the “rated r” aspect can be tricky. “Choosing Me: Love Letters from a Poet, Volume 1“ does an exceptional job in balancing those nuances. You may blush at times as you peek into their bedroom; into the author’s thoughts. Yet, the sultry references are comfortable and very natural.
- The black and white floral photography seen every so often makes sense. It’s a nice reminder of love blossoming, femininity. This was a delicate symbolic add, very à propos.
Poetry authors: watch out, the bar has been raised!

Bill Weber summed up?
I’ll have to quote him directly as a self-proclaimed “handsome devil living a charmed life in Illinois with his beautiful wife, Christine.”
What more could I say?
His autobiographical quips make you smile and so will this book.
