Boutiquing in Phoenix
-
a small stylish hotel, typically one situated in a fashionable urban location.
My Jerry Maguire moment: you had me at stylish.
The icing on this week’s quick overnight trip to Arizona wasn’t just the great company we kept or the family style dinner at Pappadeaux or even the complimentary premier upgrades on United. Hands down, it was the stay at The Kimpton Palomar Hotel.
Nestled in quiet and chic downtown Phoenix, this upscale boutique hotel from the IHG group is big surprise for it’s small per night price tag. It doesn’t disappoint. From the welcoming front desk personnel to the spa-like room amenities, this hotel delivers on all levels without breaking the bank.
Drop your bag in your room and head to their 3rd floor roof top bar – you’ll thank me later: the breathtaking view of the mountain range is to die for. But don’t get too cozy. Keep those those heels on and get ready to experience Cityscape, the heart of downtown Phoenix and two blocks of sheer entertainment. A leisurely stroll just moments away from The Kimpton and you’ll find yourself with options ranging from sporting venues, gyms, fine dining and oh so many shishi coffee houses. You can even do a little shopping between pit stops.
Now, should you decide to stay in – you’ll find posh tranquility awaiting: soft pillowy beds, feathered pillows, dim lighting. The room decor has a dash of personality in the most inconspicuous places. Pst! That seemingly unassuming cream armoire… oh yes, it’s lined in fun green wallpaper! I couldn’t stop opening and closing those 6 foot doors! There’s even a yoga mat and umbrella waiting for your timely use.
Curious? Check out their Instagram #PalomarPHX or sample pics via my Instagram or their page link – all from the customers’ vantage point, of course – free publicity, the best and my favorite!
I had the pleasure of checking in and out with Eric, Front Desk Support and fabulous brand ambassador. His friendly, professional demeanor was relatable: a true testament of building emotional connections with customers.
Phoenix is a new addition to my work travel hot spots. I suspect I’ll be hitching a ride with United and staying at the Kimpton a few more times this year. Good times. I’m 100% blessed.

I have no idea where this place even is, as I am from South Africa. All I know is that this hotel sounds divine!! i’m definitely going to go and check out their website and Instagram. Thanks for sharing! xx
Well hello there! Thanks for taking me up on my Twitter request, so appreciate it! This hotel is part of the global IHG Group – http://www.ihg.com/destinations/us/en/south-africa-hotels is their link for some “swanky affortableness” should you need an “African stay-cation” someday. 🙂
