Blogger Recognition Award: A Twitter Family Wink

Validation from your virtual family goes a long ways

Blogger Recognition Awards are like virtual winks. It’s 100% validating and so fulfilling. Honestly, I love these blogger awards – even if it takes me forever to respond! 🤣

Kendra from from “Going Places with Kendra” nominated me this month and I couldn’t be happier! You see I was nominated in my birthday month.

In the event that you don’t know who Kendra is click here and check out her website. She focuses on helping people grow their blogs and businesses. Truly, a very special blog!

Thank you @KendraGoing for making this an extra special birthday month!

Okay – so down to business. If you’re new to this blogger award stuff, let me walk you through the mechanics.

About the Blogger Recognition Award

The Blogger’s Recognition Award is an award made of nominations by bloggers for other bloggers. It’s a way to encourage and support all of the hard work, time, and effort that goes into this blogging life. It creates a chain of recommendations for bloggers who deserve to be followed.

How My Blog Got Started

Long story short. I fell in love and felt a burning desire to share it with the world. I love to write and so here I am a year later blogging about life, love, God and the road to freedom!

(Yowza, even I can’t believe I was able to answer that question so quickly! If you want to really get to know me, click here)

Two Pieces of Advice for New Bloggers

I’ve thought a lot about “mastering blogging” as a nouveau blogger. And for me it all boils down to two things: networking and social media.

Networking: Aside from writing your heart out, the most important thing you should focus on is finding your online tribe and building on that community. I wrote about that in “Blogging Secret Sauce“. This virtual family will be your constant source of inspiration and motivation.

Social media: So, it’s not about lighting up EVERY possible business social account. You have to pick one and become a pro at it. Pinterest is the best social account hands down for boosting website traffic. Click here for some free advice on how I went from 500 monthly views to over 20,000 in 2 months! And more since then!

My Nominees for the Blogger Recognition Award

Honestly, my favorite part of these awards isn’t only about the recognition, it’s about the social sharing. And so I get to nominate 15 bloggers. And today, I’d like to nominate 15 new followers to my Twitter account. I feel so blessed!
